Teach Me Tuesday at MB's Treasurista with Liz

Hi all my crafty addicts,

Today we will be doing another fun segment of Teach Me Tuesday! For those of you joining in for the first time Teach Me Tuesday is where every Tuesday (obviously..lol) a Design Team member from MBT, shares a new technique on how to make something fun and creative. Some techniques may be more advanced and some extremely simple. The one I will be showing you today is extremely simple, yet fun and super cute!!!

So we all love those acrylic flowers that MBT has in different colors in her shop, but most people only think "inside the box" while others tend to "jump out the box", lol...like me. A darling friend of mine, former DT, had made some head bobby pins and it sparked a great idea in my creative side of my brain. LOL...Why not make some stick pins??? Well, I thought it would be a fabulous idea and a new way to have some real cute and innovative stick pins. There are several ways you can make them so check below for an entire Bloggy tutorial on this Fabulous Teach Me Tuesday!!!!

Supplies you will need:

Glossy Accents

Cutting Tool

Stick Pins (any kind) these are from MBT of course ;)

Acrylic flowers from MBT

You can either choose to leave the head of the pin on or remove it,

as I did with the Red one. Totally a preference choice. I will show

you both ways.

Make sure you remove the flower from its stem properly, just cut it with your

favorite scissors, mine are Timmy of course :)

Take your glossy accents and add a drop of it on the pin, where the flower will go.

This doesn't matter if you decided to remove the head or not.

Slide the stick pin into the hole on the back of the acrylic flower.

Hold still and let dry completely, specially if you have removed the

pin head from the stick pin.

Then, you will have completed your first stick pin with an acrylic flower.

(This one I left the head on)

Here is what you will have when you continue making them.

MBT has lots of vibrant colors for you to choose from.

Just check out the shop and you will be on your way to

making some great stick pins for spring and summer!

Simple and Easy as 1..2...3...LOL

We have yet another fun themed challenge going on at Pattie's Creations. This week the theme is Vintage!!! Yay! I love vintage theme. I decided to go with a different route and use a vintage tea cup digital from Pattie's. I would normally go with a dress form or even vintage shoes or hat. But this time I wanted to try something different, and I love the way it came out.

Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop- Day 2

Welcome to the Crafty Friends Give Blog Hop. We are so glad you could join us for Day 2 of this very special hop. The mission of this blog hop is to raise awareness about bone marrow donations to help Leukemia patients.

Bone marrow donation technology has come a long way, and is now as simple as giving blood. So we are trying to raise awareness and get people to register at http://marrow.org to be a bone marrow donor. And why are we doing this your might ask? To help save my life, as well as many others battling this horrible disease. I have been battling Leukemia for over a year and a half now, back in December of 2010 I was diagnosed with a very rare form of Leukemia called bi-phenotypic Leukemia. It really is a killer. Bi-phenotypic Leukemia is composed of two, yes you read right, two different types of leukemia. Patients battling just one struggle and barely make it. I have undergone extensive chemotherapy, painful bone marrow biopsy's, lumbar punctures, and many other procedures. Its been a horrible roller coaster ride for me and my family. We have had tough moments but we have gotten through them.

Many people are unaware of the seriousness of this illness. It's sord of like if your not in it you wouldnt understand. People look at me and say, "you don't look sick". Yes, I am bless to not look sick but I am, my blood is infected with this terrible cancer that every day impairs my life. How you ask, well I am unable to work due to the frequent doctor visits and chemotherapy sessions I receive. I can't make long term plans because I am not sure where will I be. It's extremely tough and those are just small things. What about not being able to go outside if its a bit chilly, and by chilly I mean in the 60's. Not being able to go out if it rains, constantly and I mean constantly be cleaning your hands with anti-bacterial, the list goes on. Every time I go to the Dr. I am in fear. I live my life in fear that bad news can come up any moment. Its a never ending nightmare for me and my family. The medication makes you gain weight, give you headaches at times, and major hot flashes. I want to just live life freely and I cant because this disease restricts me. The one thing that can save my life is a transplant and because I am hispanic it makes me a minority and harder for me to find one. I am asking all of you who are hopping through and reading this, to find it in your hearts to register today<3 Don't wait another day, their are people like me out there that need your marrow to live, to live free from fear, to live a healthy long life. A few days ago, I read one of the most devastating things on facebook. A seven year old little girl whom was battling Leukemia. This broke my heart and as you can imagine, hit close to home.

As I am battling Leukemia also and know the suffering and pain that it comes with, I cannot help but to think how brave she is to fight. The crafting community has come together and ask that everyone make her a card if her story touched your heart. I was absolutely thrilled to make her a card, not only did I make her one and sent it, I also made her a bookmark, which she can use to read her favorite book.

Emily is in my prayers as well as her family and she will beat this, she is a strong little girl! Praying for you Em!

It's challenge time again with Pattie's Creations. This weeks challenge theme is Valentine. Isn't that sweet? As for my project, I decided to use Pattie's Love Postage Stamps and chose one of the three from the set. I chose this one because often we get so busy in our schedules that we forget how important it is to show those whom we love how we feel. A time for love, explains that and just that, any moment is a great one to tell someone how great they are and how much you love them. What can I say I am a hopeless romantic..haha!

Mb's Treasurista Creative Challenge DT Project

Hi all my crafty addicts,

MBT is having a Creative Challenge on their blog for Valentine's Day. There will be an awesome prize for the winner of this challenge. As most challenges out there you usually have to create a project or card within that particular theme. Well, with this challenge we decided to throw you all a bit of a curve ball. Yup, that's right a curve ball. Although, the theme is Valentine's Day, you are not allowed to use an RED or PINK in any of your project.

At first, when I thought of this I was like wow this is going to be difficult. What other colors can you combine to portray that Valentine theme of Love/Romance/Passion. Well It was ton of fun and I came up with an alternative color for V-day. This is one of my favorite project that I have made for MBT thus far and really enjoyed doing this. I hope that you enjoy the inspiration and come play with us at MB's Treasurista.

Now onto my project. I happen to love Black, White, and a splash of PINK!!! Everything I love must have some pink in it. I decided to go with this treasure box I have been hoarding for a while and thought this was the perfect occasion to alter it and use it to store many of my scrappy goodies.

I started with a wooden treasure box I found at my local thrift store for 98 cents and painted it Pink.

Pattie's Creations Challenge #36 Design Team Project

Hi everyone,

Yes it is that time again, I was M.I.A. last challenge due to getting my life somewhat back together after some medical issues. Still not 100% but def. back to play!!! So this week the challenge on Pattie's Creations is to use some form of embossing on your card. As I just got a Big Shot for Christmas (which I am very excited for) I do not have many embossing folders, only a Halloween one (which we all know won't be good til next year) and a Valentine one which I may be saving for a later project ;). So I had a theme I wanted to go with and a perfect digital image from Pattie, so I just had to go and get a Timmy embossing folder. Which was by the way a great buy because they were already 30% off and I had an additional 30% Off, so it was a steal. Anyhow, enough about that. Mb's Treasurista January DT Project

Hi my crafty addicts...

I have been contemplating for a couple of weeks as to what I wanted to do for my January DT Exclusive project for MB's Treasurista and I finally came up with a great concept. I wanted to design something different yet fun and simple to make. I basically wanted to make something you can put on your desktop and just get inspiration from as well as, be functional. I designed a trim/lace/ribbon holder with a Sewing theme. I decided I wanted to make something to hold my favorite trim from Mb's Treasurista.

Being that I have Leukemia myself, I wanted to give some hope and put smiles on Children's faces for Valentine's day that are struggling with Cancer just like me. No person, nor no child should have to go through this rigorous process in fighting for their life against this disease that I hope one day someone very special will find a cure for. Onto my project, I decided to make a Digital Card using one of Pattie's most adorable images in her shop, Penguin.

I basically took Pattie's image and used Photoshop CS5 to color in the image.

Then to make the card, I used MyMemories V3 Software and created this fun, winter

card ready for the Holidays. I hope you all enjoy my first project for this hop as it was tons of

fun to make!!!

For Day 2 of the Hop, I decided to make a fun tag using one of Pattie's Free Images, Santa Clause.

My Hero's

Hello my crafty friends,

It is not often that I talk about my personal life, but today I have really been thinking about all the great things in my life aside from the bad and I have to say that I have truly been blessed in many aspects. So for those of you may know, I am about to tell you my story.

A year ago around this exact time, I was diagnosed with Leukemia. I have been through an ongoing battle fighting this sickness for an entire year and thankfully I am still ALIVE. Many people who have this type of cancer (specially children) do not get the chance to fight this like I have had. I am a strong believer in my faith and know from the bottom of my heart that I will fight through this and be a survivor and will tell my testimony, story and inspire others to fight. Honestly, there is nothing more important to fight for than your life, because without life we have nothing. I have had chemotherapy for 8 full sessions and accomplished full remission. At the end of my 8th session, I had one month of no treatment as I was done. Last month, unfortunately, it was found that the Leukemia has returned, I am still on the list for a bone marrow transplant, and looking for a possible donor. They will only test my sister from my family, I am guessing because of insurance costs and money, and she has been tested and unfortunately is not a match. I am on a list at the moment and they still have not found one. I am not worried, I know I will prevail!!! I am a fighter, a survivor!!! If you would have asked me a year ago, if I could do this, fight this thing, I would have answered and said I am not sure. But today Dec 4, 2011, I am a firm believe that I have what it takes inside to beat this thing and I will. I have been blessed with great friends who support me and are there for me, but most importantly I have been blessed with the BEST family ever. They have been with me every step of the way in ways you would never imagine, specially my mother. I swear she must be an angel, because the things she does for me I do not believe there is another person that would do them. She is my HERO!!!

Well, enough about the sob story, I am just in one of those moods today, however, I did make some layouts of my sister and mother and would love to share them with you. At this moment the only one I am missing to make one of is my daddy and I will in the next couple of days. I love him very much also and he is also my rock and strength, along with my sister and the rest of my family!!! Enough talking and here are the layouts, I hope you enjoy!!!!

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and truly took the time to give thanks for all the things in their life. I know I am very grateful to be ALIVE. I cannot stress that enough!!! Anyhow, now for this wonder challenge that Pattie has put together once again. This is a Christmas theme Challenge and I just love the Christmas theme and the digi I used from Pattie's store. It is simply adorable and had lots of fun!!!!

This challenge will run for 3 weeks, so there is plenty of time to grab a freebie (new ones added) and create something for this challenge!

And now to my project! This year has been quite a roller coaster ride for me. December of last year, I was diagnosed with Leukemia and this year has been an ongoing battle for me. I have been through chemotherapy treatments and many ups and downs that this disease causes but if there is one Thing I'm Thankful For is that I am ALIVE!!! I am very lucky to be alive and I am thankful every day of my life. I am also thankful to have had my family by my side through this difficult time and for that I am eternally thankful. for my project, I decided to make a 12x12 Digital Layout using the MyMemories software and created a fall background giving thanks with a picture of myself with my mom right after my very first chemotherapy treatment. I love my mom for being by my side every step of the way. Hope you all enjoy and be thankful for being ALIVE everyday!!!

Hey there my fellow crafty friends,

It is that time again, and I am pleased to invite you all to participate in yet another one of Nettie G's Challenges. The challenge here is to make a project depicting Gratitude. At this time of the year with Thanksgiving right around the corner, what a great way to show how grateful you are for all of the beautiful things in life, if anything you must be grateful for life itself. I am extremely grateful this year for having the opportunity to LIVE another year and hopefully many more until I am really old and crinkly ;) Anywho, I am also very thankful for my family and my sister. This has been a rocky year for me and I am thankful to have had my family by my side, they were my ROCK!!! Within my family, there is my dear sister who I hold a very special place in my heart, not only for being in my bloodline but for being my best friend. She has been there for me in every step of the way and has always kept her faith. For that alone, I am thankful.

And now to my project! I wanted to create something with one of my favorite Hollywood Starlets, Audrey Hepburn! I just love Audrey, she is full of class, I love her keen fashion sense, and her movies are amazing! Most of all my favorite movie is the very famous Breakfast at Tiffany's. Wing it Wednesday How-to: Toilet Paper Mini

So I have had a few people ask about the TP mini rolls, which is quite fascinating because they are so popular right now. Its fairly easy and affordable to do and everyone just loves to make them. So I am going to provide you with a quick step by step how to on how to make a TP mini :) Enjoy!!!

Supplies you need:
about 5 paper toilet rolls (empty of course) Cost is FREE
hole puncher (everyone has a whole puncher)
Something to bind your mini (ribbon, string, lace or anything really) $1 at Dollar Tree for ribbon
paper ( all you really need is 2 12x12 sheets of your choice) 5 for $1 at Joanns or Michaels
scissors (everyone has scissors)
adhesive (everyone has some kind of adhesive whether glue or tape
embellishments (pearls, buttons, flowers, lace, ribbon, die cuts, bling, etc) Dollar bins at Michaels :)

Hi my Crafty Friends,

I cooked up this little number below tonight!!! I just happen to love digi stamps, they create such a fun, lovely feel to cards that I think everyone enjoys receiving a card with a digi stamp on it. Not only do they look cute but they are fun to color. Now I know everyone loves the copics, however, I am a fashion designer and I learned with prismacolors and I must admit I stick with what I love and I love my prismas. I do have the BIC Markers and I do not find they blend as easily, however they are good to use on areas where you dont have so much blending to do.

Anywho, lets not prolong this any longer, I know you are all dying to see what I created with a Freebie image I got from freedigitalstamps.blogspot.com. Check them out they are amazing and are always giving you the cutest freebie digi stamps out there!!!

So I saw the other day Studio D Boutique use this greeting farm image and I just loved it and had to get it! So I decided to color it with a mixture of prisma color markers and bic markers. Christmas Mini Album

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing great!! For the past couple of days, I have been working on a Christmas Mini Album. I used one of the chipboard albums they sell at Michael's for a dollar that I got for my birthday and thought it was super adorable as it is shaped like an ornament. I then decided to use two different paper collections, both to be a resemblance of a vintage christmas which are my minds eye Lost and found Christmas paper and Bobunny Father Chrismas paper. I really enjoyed working with both of these collections and had tons of fun putting together this mini as it is my first mini album ever. Well enough jibber jabber and here are photos of the mini. CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge 3

Hi my fellow crafty people....

So this is the third installment for the freebie challenge for CDAC. I managed to missed the second due to life's unforeseen troubles, however I was able to buy back in for just a buck!!! Isn't that amazing, I think so. Anyhow, they gave out some amazing images and again I almost missed the deadline due to life's unforeseen lil' troubles...but ha! not so fast, I managed to squeeze right in there and was able to submit my work. Which I am really proud of. Fall is one of my favorite holidays, not only because it is my birthday, or because it is Halloween, but because when I was up north (which I hope to be back soon) I was able to experience the difference in seasons. Being from Miami, FL. you really don't get to experience the different seasons as you do up north. In Miami, all you really get to see is Spring and Summer, the humidity, rain, and heat. For fall there is no changing of color in leaves or falling leaves for that matter. So, I was really excited when I saw one of the images was a woodland fairy. I put my creative juices working and came up with this:

Updates and Great News

Hi my fellow craft partners in crime....lol

I have a few updates for all of you, so here they go:

#1 I have posted new jewelry inventory in my zibbet store which you can all check out. I will be having a sale very soon. I am still trying to upload some holiday kits that I want to have ready before the sale as well as some card making kits for the holidays, each card making kit will include 2 cards with envelopes (white) and themed paper to go with the given holiday. Looking forward to having Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Card Kits...who knows might even throw in a New Years one. So stay tuned for that!!!

#2 This month is my Birthday!!! Yay!!! Due to it being my birthday, I will be organizing a blog hop, however, my Birthday is on October 8 and the blog hop is for Halloween. But it's great because Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I get to celebrate it this year doing a blog hop. I am really excited about that. Trick or Treat...

Halloween is coming and I am super excited as this is one of my favorite holidays!!! Yay! I have been working on some pretty awesome Halloween knick knacks for some September Swaps I am participating in. One of them is over at Creating the Crafty Life, which if you haven't checked out you should definitely do so. We are having a card swap and I have been pondering for weeks because I really wanted to make this a fun project and make some cards that I know I would love as well as others. Well, enough babbling and lets see the cards. I have only made one of the sets of 5 and still working on creating the second sets but have had some things come up in my personal life that I must attend to first. But anyhow, I promise this time I will show you FINALLY, the ones I have created thus far. I hope you enjoy!!!

DT Project for Nettie G Digital Gems

Here is a DT project I made with one of Nettie G's Digital Gems Digi Images. She has some amazing heart-warming images and I could not resist and use this Sewing Christmas Tree. As a Fashion Designer from NYC one of the things I miss the most right now is Designing and when I saw this digi image it truly made me happy again. Amongst this one they have may different artsy ones which you must check out!!!
